We should be living
together
Instead we seem to live
apart
It seems that we
never
Have matching feelings in
our heart
You say potato, I say
to-may-to
Yet we pretend they're both
the same
We live together, but
hardly ever
Breathe in the smoke of our
loving game
Although we're living
together
It seems we just cannot
agree
It's a strong but fraying
tether
That keeps us tied
emotionally
Yes we are living
together
In empty rooms where paths
don't meet
I can stand inclement
weather
When we're on the same side
of the street
And if we're living
together
In a place we know we both
belong
And though I want this
forever
The ties that bind are not that
strong
