Polaroids

I sometimes get to thinking
Of those I've left behind
I feel the best place for them
Is a recess in my mind
A faded pack of polaroids
The ghosts of girlfriends past
They never did develop
They just weren't meant to last
The path of least resistance
Leads to those we have forgot
I won't expose the negatives
But I'm happy with my lot
And though it's nice to pay a visit
I wouldn't say it's wrong
If you're picture's in the present
It doesn't do to dwell too long...
