At least that's what the wife says
I put it down to getting old
But it's not just that, or so I'm told
Like when I caught a bus
Oh my goodness, what a fuss!
I may have missed my stop
Only one or two...no need to strop!
But she came and took my hand
Told the driver I didn't understand
Said I'd lost the marbles I once had
Surely I haven't gotten that bad
I'll admit I do forget little things
But I'm sure she doesn't need to pull my strings
I get confused these days
Oh, I've already done that...
One day I caught her crying
I know she's helping, I know she's trying
Just can't help but deny
Blurry days just pass me by
I look around, try to see
Everything just seems normal to me
But everything I do is wrong
Soon I'll be lost, she says it won't be long
I get confused these days
Oh not again...
I get moody, cranky
I put up a fight
And although it really hurts
I think I know she's right
It's all a part of life's funny game
That I play with...hang on a minute...what is her name...
I'll be good, I'll take my pills
Though if you ask me, I'm not ill

Oh for goodness sake...
She's always there and I believe
Although she cries she'll never leave
I tried to catch the bus again
She found me in the pouring rain
She said that I should stay at home
It's safer there, I shouldn't roam
Sometimes I let my gaze linger
At the gold band upon my finger
And I give myself a little scare
I can't remember who put it there
Seems that it has come to this
In ignorance I have found bliss
There's a stranger in my house that says
