The evenings are cooler now
Time to snuggle up each night
With either a snugly blanket
Or holding a loved one tight
The skies are clear and bright
The stars can be seen everywhere
Cuddle up with a warm drink
In wonderment, sit and stare
The fire burns divinely warm
A comfort you can't compare
Watching as the flames flicker
As tendrils of smoke, dance in the air
How I love the smell of a log fire
It takes me to a comforted place
Sitting contently by the fireside
Watching the flames gently blaze
It's time for suppers of stew
Chilli, to warm the soul
We close the door to summer
As we embrace autumn whole
