To me, in the mirror,
I look just fine,
But the scales;
How they like to whine,
Too much Xmas -
Was it the mince pies?
Not too much damage,
Still the same size,
Something nudges,
Tips me off the edge -
Back to healthy eating,
And lots and lots of veg,
Soon be back in the pool,
And my arrows and bow,
Does it make a difference,
I really want to know?
Running on the treadmill,
It's all just for me,
Feel a little fitter,
That helps me feel free,
Everything gets easier,
But I weigh the same,
Yet look trimmer -
What is this mind game?!
So the scales must be lying,
I give up, time to escape,
I think I will play better,
With a measuring tape.

@RichWithey - yeh this is what I'm hoping! At least muscle is a better shape than fat! Archery in the uni sports hall π near the swimming pool but not quite in it... Archery polo?! π Happy holidays too you too π
Muscle is heavier than fat. That is why you look trimmer. You are replacing (sorry) fat with muscle. πππ
Muscle doesn't weigh more than fat that's a myth but it has a greater density so as @RichWithey said its possible to build muscle whilst losing the fat therefore staying the same weight good idea with the tape measure I think it's a better way of seeing the changes either that or your clothes start hanging off you ππ
@sjw ahhh ok! I just bought new jeans a size down in the sales π even though apparently I'm the same weight! Weird! Oh well ππ
