I let my mind wander as my teacher, Mr Lambert droned on about choosing the right university, in less than a week I would be free from the daily school routine, with eight long weeks of non stop sunshine stretching out in front of me. I couldn't wait to spend most days lounging by the pool with my perfect boyfriend. I let out a sigh. 'miss Archer, can you please explain to me the four things you should keep in mind when choosing from universities.' Mr Lambert asked smugly. 'umm, let me see, location, subject choice, grades and of course if there will be good looking boys.' I replied back with a smug grin as the class broke out into cheers. 'see me after school.' he spat, his glasses almost shaking out of anger. I shrank down in my seat and mentally reprimanded myself for being cocky.
I sat nervously biting at my nails for the rest of the day, dreading the moment that I would have to go and see Mr Lambert again. My heart sank as the bell signaled the end of a school day, fear washed through me as I walked slowly towards my history room. I knocked quietly and then slunk in. 'ah miss Archer I see you've decided to bless me with your presence' he sneered. I sat down quickly in front of him hugging my bag to my chest. 'mr Lambert I'm so sorry about earlier, I don't know what came over me.' I said apologetically. He raised an eyebrow questionably 'hmmm well maybe you should think before you speak.' he said with a slight humorous tone to his voice. I smiled, 'I really am sorry.' I said again. 'it's the end of the year everyone is tired and saying things we don't mean, just don't let it happen again.' he winked signaling that I could leave. I scurried out before he changed his mind and decided to punish me. I slung my bag over my shoulder and walked down the empty corridors feeling a weight lift from my shoulders.
I opened the entrance doors and stepped out into the bright sunshine, bringing my hands up to shield my eyes. I stumbled towards the school gates, my eyes still adjusting to the dazzling light. 'hey...Amelie over here.' I span around and saw my boyfriend jogging over to me. The sunlight bounced off his golden hair giving the impression that he had a halo around his head. He caught up with me and leant down to place a kiss on my lips. 'didn't think you could leave without saying goodbye did you.' he smiled.
