We said goodbye to Lucy and Tom at the airport and promised to bring them back sone treats. We boarded the plane and sat in our seats, as I buckled up I looked at my ring. I still could not believe this was happening. I felt butterflies in my stomach at the prospect of meeting Adam's family. As if reading my thoughts Adam took my hand and squeezed it comfortingly. 'don't worry Abby, they are going to love you' he said excitedly. I gave a weak smile back. I closed my eyes and tried to get some sleep so that I would look my best for tomorrow.
Adam nudged me gently awake just before we landed. I stretched and yawned. 'mum, said that we can stay at their house for a few days before we go to your parents house.' Adam said. 'that's great. I will let my parents know that we are coming.' I replied.
Adam and I walked hand in hand towards baggage reclaim our arms swinging in anticipation. We grabbed our bags and then hailed one of the iconic black cabs. Adam told the driver where to go while I frantically tried to fix my hair and make up. Adam laughed when he saw me and said, 'Abby you don't need to bother with all that, they will love you fir who you are.' I smiled back at him and kissed him on the cheek. 'thanks Adam, but I don't want your family thinking that your engaged to a slob.' I said.
We pulled up at a huge property with double gates and a long driveway leading up to a beautiful huge old house. I sat looking at it with my mouth hanging open. 'Adam you didn't tell me your family was so wealthy, I would of put on nicer clothes.' I said embarrassed.
don't be ridiculous' he said grabbing my hand and pulling me up the drive. He rang on the doorbell and a very glamourous looking woman opened the door. 'Adam, my baby!' she cried embracing him in a huge hug, which was difficult as he was about a foot talker than her. Then she looked around him towards me. 'and you are?' she sneered.
