I learnt the lesson long ago
I knew that boys were bad news
I saw my friends fall apart
From bad romances that didn't last
I made a promise to myself
I'd never ever lower my defence
He crept up on me in disguise
He gained my trust without using lies
I welcomed him in as my friend
I trust him now until the bitter end
Some promises should be broken
Without him now I'd feel utterly rotten
