I was their first born baby
Born in the summer they were happy with their young lady
But a sick child I was turning their days a bit shady

At the age of 10 they couldn't keep their anger down
Father left our home but he didn't flee our town
I missed our mornings but in sadness I didn't drown

So at 10 I became a mother to 3 siblings with great gladness

At 17 met the love of my life
At 22 became his wife
At 32 with his lack of devotion am no longer a wife

I lost friends fighting for freedom during a revolution in front of my eyes
Lost my faith way before that cause of all my whys
Watched friends and family with illnesses in hospitals dying surrounded by cries
But I was born to fight and I made it through
And now I see that I don't easily break or bend
Maybe I was brought here to fix and mend
And along the way I learned to be strong on my own and deal with all the shit that life sends
And I realized I was born to fight and I will always make it through
