Nurtured

#acorn (one of my first heartfelt pieces)

When we met I was just a girl
my head full of nothing but music
dance, and getting a thrill. I couldn't of known
the joy you would bring,
for the first time my heart knew
what it was to sing.

You opened my eyes treating me
to delights
and spices of what life held,
my head swooned from such dizzy heights,
as beneath my breast
my heart leapt and swelled.

You watched a woman grow from that girl
loving supporting protecting me
more than you would a precious pearl,
teaching me to reach for the sky
even now a theory that I still apply.

Your love you give to me,
unselfish warm strong unconditionally.
You never let me down
it's in your tenderness and warmth I drown,
you've loved me for so long it's with you
that I truly belong.
