A smiling face, within a frame,
A moment caught in time,
So long ago, yet yesterday,
Engraved upon my mind.
The sunlight trapped upon your face,
As you smiled back to me,
Caught forever in a frame,
Sat there for me to see.
Would that I turn back my clock,
And revisit that day,
And stand before my camera so,
As I did that sunny day,
And would that you smile back to me,
The sunlight on your face,
And would that I return once more,
And do it all again.
Alas my friend it cannot be,
I'm here and here I stay,
But still I glance toward your face,
Remembering that day,
And on this Anniversary,
My day is spent not here,
But looking through a lens at you,
One day that we both shared.
