Her Story

Okay, so as asked, I am continuing to post this story. This is the next two chapters, only two cos chapter 4 is quite long ☺ and, well, enjoy!
-------------------------

Chapter 3 - Sasha
----------------------

I was thinking about the girl again at lunch the next day when I walked into her.
"I'm so sorry" I said, helping her to her feet.
Brushing off her skirt, she smiled at me. It was a thin, weak smile. "It's fine" She replied.
"I'm sorry about yesterday" I added quickly.
She thought for a while before nodding. "I'm used to it" She explained, shrugging.
"You shouldn't be" I said and she smiled again.
"You are the only one who thinks so." She smiled.
"I'll be here to help," I smiled then added, "if you want me to."
She nodded. "That would be nice. I'm Sasha" She smiled.
"I'm Emily" I replied, returning a smile.
"You're new here, right?" Sasha asked.
"I started on monday" I replied.
"The first week is always the worst." Sasha grinned.
I shrugged. "Today hasn't been so bad." I said and her smile grew.
"Do you want to go into town with me tomorrow? I could show you all the best places." Sasha said quickly, smirking.
I nodded. "Sure" I smiled.
"Do you know the Old Mill bus stop?" She asked.
"Yeah, it's round the corner from my house."
"Good. Meet you there at 11." Sasha smiled. "I'll see you tomorrow." She added as the bell rung. And just like that she walked off, smiling to herself.

Chapter 4 - The Right Thing To Do
-------------------------------------------

I had fun on Saturday. It made me glad that we had moved because if we hadn't I would never have met Sasha and she was amazing. I found that we had a lot of things in common but I never asked why she didn't have hair. She didn't tell me either and I think she was glad I didn't.

I met Sasha before school on monday and we walked to school together. We spoke about nothing in particular but when we stepped into school she gave me the oddest look.
"I need to tell you something, Em. Just not now, not here." She whispered.
"After school?" I asked as the bell rang.
She nodded. "Sure."

Sasha was sent home at lunch so she didn't get time to tell me. About 5 minutes after Sasha had left, the group of girls found me standing alone down one of the corridors. They surrounded me just as they had done to Sasha on my fourth day. I wasn't scared though, this was different, they didn't have sneers on their faces like before but I was being brave for Sasha, I felt that this was about her and they won't mess with her anymore.
"I hear you are friends with that bald girl." Blondie said.
"Her name is Sasha." I replied.
"Yeah, well I don't like you being friends with her." She smiled.
"I don't care." I replied, smiling back at her.
"I will get you better friends than her." She replied.
"No, you won't. Sasha is my friend. She is a good friend." I said.
"Like I said, I can get you better friends."
"I don't want you to find me better friends. She's a better friend to me than you'll ever be to anyone" I said but I didn't say it spitefully. Her face dropped as if I had just offended her badly.
"You'll pay for that." She spat then stomped away. The others followed her, shaking their heads. I was slightly confused but I was looking forward to telling Sasha what happened.

On the walk home I bumped into a group of boys and was beaten badly. Before the first punch was landed, they told me it was payback. When I was laying on the floor, curled in a ball bruised and bleeding, one of the boys said something to me which played on my mind for a long time after.
"Next time it will be your life." He said and he sounded really angry. I hadn't done anything wrong.
It felt like an hour had passed before someone found me but I knew it was only about 15 minutes. It felt like I had lost so much blood but I probably hadn't lost that much.
It wasn't long before I was at the hospital. I had an X-ray when I got there and they told me the damage. My nose was broken and so were three of my ribs. I had to stay the night because I had to have a blood transfusion.
I went home the next day. At the end of that week, Sasha came to see me.
"I only just found out what happened to you." Sasha said, closing my door behind her.
I pulled myself into a sitting position as she sat on the edge of my bed.
"Not many people have been told then?" I asked.
"Who would know?" Sasha asked.
"Blondie." I replied, shrugging, then winced from the pain.
"Who?"
"At school. The group of girls that everyone stays away from. Well when you left on Monday they came to see me. Blondie told me that she'd find me better friends thank you so I turned her down. I must have said something to anger her. The boys beat me for revenge, she sent them after me, and I'm surprised she didn't say anything." I replied, slowly.
My voice was still a little wheezy. It was better than it was before but I had tablets from the doctors to take for the pain.
Sasha was staring at me now. She opened her mouth then closed it straight away.
"Are you stupid? Laura? Oh my, Em, this is bad. This is very bad." Sasha said but I wasn't worried. She seemed angry.
"It was the right thing to do." I replied and I would have shrugged again but it hurt too much.
Sasha was shaking her head. "No, not for me. Not for me."
"Why not? You deserve more than this. No one deserves what I saw those girls do to you." I protested.
Sasha looked down. "This is the hand I've been dealt. No one can change it, not even you."
"Like it or not, I'm going to stick up for you no matter what."
"You're making a huge mistake" Sasha whispered. She seemed scared now, like there was something beyond what we were talking about. Something deep down, waiting to come out.

@yikici 😊❤

It gets better. lol Love the drama here, I think in parts you can still show more rather than tell; but the visuals here are very vivid in my mind. Brilliant. 😘💗✨

@yikici I'm glad you like it 😊 ... Do you mean when Emily gets beaten up? Like add more details to it? Thank you for the lovely repost 😘👍❤

@BethyBoo you could do, I was thinking more of when you say things like she felt/saw/heard etc.. It's good to be able to shows these with visuals or senses opposed to telling the reader such and such felt a certain way -let them feel it, not read it..does that make sense?

@yikici I think so, yeah 😄

@BethyBoo there's a great book to help understand it better: Stephen King's 'On Writing' -it's worth a read to get an insight into the mind of a great writer. 😘

@yikici I'll look into that, thank you 😊😘

You're most welcome ☺
