The banging never ceases
The noise increases
"Mummy, when will this stop?"
She'll scream again when another will drop
Her mother will hold her near
Being careful not to shed a tear
She promised herself she'd be strong
So she sung her daughter a song
One she'd heard many a time
When her husband uttered the words "you're mine"
"Your teardrops fall upon my bed
When I am away instead
I know I should be so near
In my heart you are, my dear
But just you wait and you'll see
That right around the corner is me
I'll move on in
And kiss your cheeky grin
And us right there could never fall
Because towards each other there is a glorious pull"
She kissed her daughter then pulled her near
As her daughter whispered in her ear
"I love you"
