Religion Acrostic Results

With 35 entries, all of thought provoking quality, this has been the hardest challenge I have done.

I've slept on it and after much self flagellation created this short list of pieces after numerous lists and rethinks:

@dodged 'Religion' - showing that faith can provide strength

@Rawren 'Religious Me' - well expressed feeling of warmth in finding god

@Klaire 'Religion' - an honest opinion of love and eternal damnation; magical creation over evolutionary monkeys

@evilfingerz 'His Highness Porcelainius' - evil was on rampant form again but this one of talking to god on the big white telephone made me laugh

@were 'Religion' - finding religion in a calm place conveyed with skill

@emjez 'Remember Me' a word from our sponsor and a clever piece

@TheCodsPollocks 'Let Us Prey' - hilarious yet damning, just my cup of holy water

@sjw 'Realities or Conspiracies' - thought provoking and great structure, not hampered or forced by the acrostic nature

@sammielee46 'Reaching Out' - Sam's creative juices were flowing and I found this to be the pick of the bunch. Felt the emptiness in religion, again without noticing the acrostic element.

@wendy3763 'Nothing to do With?' - succinctly showing the difference between the pomp of religion and faith in god

@leelee101 'Pray or Prey' - a quality glimpse into the shady side, another one where the acrostic didn't hamper the flow

@sarahgamal 'Religion' - religion in a minimalist yet perfect nutshell

@patdolan83 'Both Sides' - made me ask myself questions, not least, are we masters or servants of our lives?

That was the hard part, picking a top three was a little easier. These stood out after several readings for their structure, and response they provoked in me:

In 3rd
@sammielee46 'Reaching Out'
really felt this one

In 2nd
@sjw 'Realities or Conspiracies'
Intelligent and quality

But in first place a piece that had me in stitches, yet also asked serious questions....

@TheCodsPollocks 'Let Us Prey'

Excellent work all!!!

Ok. So it has taken me a while and I finally realised why I chose lust as my word. Its something I usually wouldn't look for. That made it extra tricky for all who entered to make me read on.

@Burrfoot I don't know whether I'm coming or going to be honest! I'm chuffed to have won but know you're right about the poisoned chalice - still I'm looking forward to it (I think!). As for coming up with a cracking word @leelee101 I'm afraid I was in a state of panick and just went with the first word I saw - I literally had 5 minutes or would have had to keep you all waiting 'til I got home. I did consider "Neanderthal" but looking at your picture Lee I thought that would give you an unfair advantage! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ‘

@evilfingerz thanks mate - and your author image has got to be the creepiest I've seen! πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘πŸΊ

@TheCodsPollocks oh hardy har har! πŸ˜‚ Probably right though... πŸ’πŸ‘

@TheCodsPollocks is it the hand or clown that you speak of😱

@Burrfoot When you say given yourself a huge pat on the back, I tell you mate I'm getting some really weird Irish images here! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ‘

@sjw @sarahgamal @sammielee46 Thank you, I love you to bits! Hope you have a go at mine πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

@evilfingerz The hand, er, 6 hands! I bet that feels weird when you scratch your ass! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

@TheCodsPollocks you're telling me. Makes an easier task of nose picking thoughπŸ˜‚

@TheCodsPollocks isn't it! when I saw @evilfingerz pic it made me feel all itchy 😁πŸ˜₯

@TheCodsPollocks @sjw it seems I'm creeping everyone out with that pic. I may leave it up a lil while...πŸ˜„

@evilfingerz 😱nooooo! and you know what I'm not easily spooked but that.....πŸ˜₯

@sjw well I do have an evil clown on standby...

@evilfingerz evil clowns I can deal with lol

@sjw eventually...
