Chapter Twenty Four
Never Let Him Go
"Are you sure that's what's going on?" Naomi asked. Caden nodded. "Well I have to go. See ya" and with that she left.
Caden walked to the park and sat on the bench. He thought about what he had said to Serena. He never ever talked like that to anybody before. Trickles of guilt started running down Caden. He took a long breath. "I wish I could see her one more time" he whispered. He then heard gasping. He looked. It was Serena. She was in a black jeans, with a with blue t-shirt on. She was a little bit pale. Her eyes is what scared Caden the most. "Serena?" he called out as he stood up.
Serena looked up at him. "Caden..." she said almost in a whispered. "Listen I'm sorry that I was mean to you. I was just really hurt by you like always...still I shouldn't of said those things to you". Said Caden. Serena walked over to him. "Are-are we together again?" she asked. Caden shook his head. "No but I just wanted to say sorry for the way I was treating you earlier". Serena frowned. "It's fine! You don't have to be sorry or anything Caden! I just wanna be with you". Caden stepped away from her. He couldn't take her back.
Two months later,
Caden who was still heartbroken was feeling a little better. He went to a lake and sat down on the grass. He smelled the fresh air. He let the wind blew against his face. He was hearing the sound of the lake. He was enjoying the moment. Then he heard someone walking in the grass behind him. He turned to look. It was Serena. Again. "Serena what are you to doing here?" he asked. Serena sat next to him. "You told me that this was your favorite spot. Caden cracked a little smile and shrugged. "Yeah. I was gonna take you here". He said. Serena bit her lips.
"Im still in love with you Caden. I always have and always will". Caden sighed and crossed his arms. "You know you hurt me a lot". He said as his voice started to sound like he was about to get annoyed. Serena looked down ashamed. "Please". She croaked. She was about to cry. "Promise me you won't ever hurt me again then" Caden demanded. "I promise I won't ever hurt you again" said Serena. Caden opened his arms for her to hug. Serena went over to him and hugged him tightly. She loved him very much. She knows she could never let him go.
