Dream

Do you remember how I
Held your hand in mine
And looked in your eyes,
Yours to love.
We were one person,
Two halves of a heart then
You went missing
Taken above.

But when the sun falls down
We're safe and sound
We'll never let go, rip time and space
At the seams
And we'll be
A dream.

Now I cling to the pillow
Because I know
When slumber has to go
You'll go too.
So I race each night to bed
Covering up my head,
Rather be there instead,
There with you.

Because when moonrise comes,
When the day is done
We're one again, just like we were made
To be,
You and me
In a dream.

That was years ago now
Yet still, somehow,
Even though my brow,
Is covered in lines
It's seems like yesterday
Our future was whisked away,
You without your say
And I without mine.

But when this heart lies still,
Tonight in sleep it will
Once again, we will be not a figment but us
As we were meant to be,
You and me
No longer a dream.

Waiting

I want this feeling to last forever. No matter the sadness or stormy weather. As we lie here, under the moon and stars. I'll always be beside you, no matter how far. Miles apart but always entwined.
