Demons

I'm followed by my demons,
I just can't shake them off.
I can feel them in my throat,
But can't dislodge them with a cough.

They won't leave me alone,
They follow me everywhere.
And when I get angry,
They give everyone a scare.

I have no control over them,
So don't blame me when they come.
I know it makes you hate me,
But it makes my conscience numb.

When the demons possess me,
I can't choose what I do.
So when the demons have me,
I could do anything to you.

I promise I don't mean it,
But my anger lets them in, you see.
Don't provoke me, please,
So I can stop them taking over me.
