She looks in the mirror and asks herself every day,
Is she beautiful?
A joke or a comment about her image,
Stains the white canvas in her mind.
And then she wonders,
Is she thin enough?
Is she tall enough?
Is she worthy?
The words clutter her mind. They confuse her.
They suffocate her, wrapping themselves around her body,
whispering harshly into her ears.
She prays for the voices to stop.
They make her almost crazy.
She looks in the mirror. Begs and pleads.
That one day she will be good enough.
That one day she will be beautiful.

@Stablish It's very true - I go to an all girls highschool/sixthform and hear things like this every day... Sometimes I find myself saying it too! It's just something that is now the norm for girls. Trying to fit in, being perfect. The media hasn't helped in this being what I believe the sole reason for disorders such as Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia.
Totally agree, when you have artists like rihanah releasing songs called S&M it's no surprise.😞 we need some decent role models.
@Stablish Agreed. The role models in pop culture are so indecent... But unfortunately it won't ever go away. They'll always exist. Sadly 😔
Ye all do know when's there's a way there's a way and if everyone works together they could end this madness. I to go to an all girls school and those questions are repetitive from day to day. I try to ignore it and help others by doing so to . Your right in saying most role models are indecent but there's some who are like adele she's not insanely thin or all about sex and there are many more. People just need reassuring to help them believe in themselves , encouragement. People should start helping every little situation and then the big one will just seem a fraction of the size it was.
Your so right. I guess sometimes its so overwhelming it's like there is no way out of it... Guess I'm just being a real pessimist. Didn't think of Adele (who did actually refuse to lose weight 😉) - thanks for your comment! It's reassuring 😊
@GroundB see all u have to do is look a bit more. I'm a pessimist too and the best way in my opinion to get my mind off the worry is to help others be happy , generally I'm a very happy person always c the bright side!:) just remember no one can be better at being u than u:)
