Your young still, my dear child
There's a world ahead of you
You have yet to see it all
So don't you rush on through
We know you want to be adult
And able to do as you please
But slow yourself a tender minute
Take time to savour the breeze
You have plenty of time for adulthood
When you come of age
But for now relish your every day
Take time to fill the page
There's plenty to write in your diary
From long summer days of youth
Use your time to make a difference
Leave an imprint as your proof
Stop running from each year of yours
Looking for greener grass
Calm your pace, ease off the throttle
Too soon your youth will pass
Leaving you a lonely dreamer
With no nostalgic memories
So when your older, thinking back
You'll feel a sense of unease
At all the times you can't remember
So my dear sweet young child
Don't wish your life away
Seize every possible waking moment
Make the most of every day.
I.Sparrow
