EyeSpy: Chapter One

My alarm clock sounded at six o'clock Monday morning. I could barely open my eyes as I was still shockingly exhausted.
"Rose?" My mother called up the stairs, making sure I was up.
I fell out of my single bed and traipsed along the landing and went straight into the bathroom. The white tiles and bright lights hurt my still sleepy eyes. I looked into the huge round mirror and frowned. I had a lot of work to do this morning!
My plain, shoulder length, brown hair was basically a birds nest on top of my head. I sighed and turned the shower on cold so it would wake me up quickly.
Once I finished having a shower I dressed myself into a cute pair denim jeans and styled it with a gorgeous striped blouse and sassy, black, leather jacket. I did my make-up in the cracked mirror in my bedroom, giving myself sexy, smokey eyes which made my blue eyes look even more mystical. I grabbed my handbag, books and phone and ran out of our family house to my car- a red Volkswagen golf. I slipped into the exterior and made my way to my Dad's house. I have to pick my younger brother Alex up and then drop him to school on my way to work.
"Morning." Alex said as he slipped into the car. He looked particularly stressed this winters morning.
"Everything l'right?" I asked as I pulled out of the street and onto the main road.
"Not really." He answered truthfully as he gazed out of the window.
"What's up?" I asked concerned.
"My girlfriend, Lola was murdered." He said emotionally. I could tell he was nearly in tears. A very fragile sixteen year old I thought to myself, but what can be expected when our parents divorced last year and our younger sister was murdered the other month.
"I'm sorry." I said with feeling.
"Yeah, thanks. The worst part is the police aren't calling it murder- it's a suicide in their documents." Alex said frustrated, he began to clench his fists.
What nobody knew though including my brother and family is that I work for the FBI.
Have been for almost five years now. I got hired at the age of fifteen to check out this girl in school. Turned out she murdered her whole family- what a lovely girl.
I promised to myself that I would look into Lola's murder for Alex.
I dropped Alex off at school and then made my way to my part time job at a rundown cafe in the middle of the bustling, crowded city of London.
