I saw a man this morning
I thought it was my dad
His eyes were dark and empty
His face was drawn and sad
He stood there still and lifeless
With his head just slightly bowed
Yet with all the grace and dignity of a man who'd once been proud.
I thought he looked so lonely as I watched him standing there,
His harrowed look, his withered stance,
His lost and hollow stare.
But then he looked straight at me and I knew it wasn't he, for between us stood a mirror,
The lonely man was me.
