The Flames

Notice: Not a personal experience

Flames dance
Before my eyes
Killing everything
With a smoky disguise

It all falls
Tumbles to the ground
As I step outside
Barely safe and sound

All the memories
And all the treasures
Lay there in flames
Used to be pleasures

They crackle
And wither
As water comes over
At a slow slither

Blanketed in smoke
Ashes decorating me
My happy home
Killed my family

They say I'm lucky
To survive at all
As I go through a haze
There's nowhere to fall

I don't feel lucky
I've got nowhere to go
The flames took everything
My family and home

I sit here now
All alone
Spinning a match in my hand
The way to make the flames be cloned

It's so little
But did so much
Now flames encase my soul
As they took everything else in one small bunch

I'm trapped forever
Though I should be free
The flames took all I knew
Away from me
