"Hi little brother
I've got bad news today.
Calling to tell you
that mom has gone astray."
Early that morning
my dad left for work.
All he then knew was
that she went for a walk.
Dad came home,
found a note that said:
"I love you all, even when I'm dead."
Later same evening,
the phone again was ringing.
Hope it's mom,
I want to hear her singing.
Picked up the phone,
my sister crying in the background.
Until the day I die
I'll never forget that sound.
I heard a voice saying:
"Your mom has been found."
In that very moment
my heart began to pound.
"Is someone by your side
or are you all alone?
We found your mom,
she won't be coming home."
Clothes neatly folded,
lying in the sand.
Death by drowning,
caused by her own hand.
Why did you do it?
I wish you could stay.
But you chose to end your life,
in such a selfish way!
Eight years later, I'm the one who's drowning, I'm the one astray.
Demons, shut the hell up!
Please, just go away!
