The bridge of all sorrows is not a good place to visit
Once crossed to the opposite bank some never return
It's flimsy planking may crumble after your transit
You can be marooned on the other side of that deep burn
There you will find sorrow, pain and anguish
Torment and guilt for something that you should not
It is possible you may never leave without tarnish
As the bridge of all sorrows begins to rot
So when things hit the bottom hold your head high
Be not engrossed in your grief and walk that bridge
Stand up straight and look up at the soft blue sky
Then walk away with strength to climb another ridge
