Happy Dance

I talked to you today,
Didn't think you were impressed...
With how I did my makeup
Or the way that I was dressed.
I laughed with you tonight,
And you smiled, ear to ear.
And while in your presence,
I forgot every fear.
You texted me later,
And recounted our rendezvous...
All the while I'm thinking...
"Does he like me, too?"
I texted you a reply,
We talked for just a tad,
Little did I know...
There was a question that you had.
You asked me that one question,
It went something like this:
"Wanna go to a movie?"
...Was there something that I missed?
I didn't text you back,
'Cause I was so in shock.
My mouth could not be closed.
Not with any lock.
Finally I replied,
"Sure, I'd love to go!"
And then I had to find someone...
Who these texts I could show.
So I ran to the other room,
Where my friend was staying the night.
I saw with complete and utter joy,
The glow of her bedroom light.
I knocked on her door,
Jumping in the air.
She opened it with no delay,
And gave an expectant stare.
"HE ASKED ME OUT!" I sputtered.
"I FINALLY HAVE THE CHANCE!"
And that is when we embarked,
On an epic happy-dance.
