A beautiful blue rock
Floating free in outer space
New and freshly formed
Filled with harmony and grace
In the beginning all was well
Organisms got along
Then came the human race
And things started to go wrong
First there was the apeman
Had to eat to stay alive
Brought about the first extinction
So his people could survive
Fast forward to the Mayans
Strong version of mankind
Extinction came and took them
God didn't really mind
For all around the Earth
His fine creation had spread out
Man took every corner
But God had a little doubt
For all throughout the ages
Man had created war
And turned against his brother
Without knowing what for
Man became all powerful
With God, it seems, forgot
While he still knew forgiveness
His protege did not
For modern man at worst
Joined the world in two great wars
God realised that his name
Very likely was the cause
As the years rolled by
Things started to improve
But mankind was still breeding
Until there was no room to move
Man's quite capable
Of absolutely anything
He can drag the very depths
Until of terror, he is king
But on the other hand
He can do the greatest good
He can fix what has been broken
But he's not sure if he should
It's not beyond repair
This place we're put upon
But looking to the heavens
It seems that God has gone
And there's always been the chance
The end will come with nuclear war
Throwing things at each other
Until man exists no more
The highest power's always firing
Warning shots across our bow
But if there really is a God
He'd have raised his hand by now...
