Returned

(Turned out longer than expected and few swear words in it)

The cold wind howled around around me, echoing eerily through the woods, like a pack of wolves on the hunt.

Mist clung to the trees like smokey cobwebs, and despite it being summer rain fell seeping through my clothes so the cold touched my bones and I was left aching for warmth.

The night was dark...and it was in the dark where the monsters lay in waiting for you.

Something I knew only too well....

"MELODY!"

My voice called out out.

Shit.
where was she?

The cold wind pushed against me harder, trying to pull me away from this place.
There was an uneasy feeling in the air as I walked further in the woods to where I last heard from Melody.

"MEEELODY, WHERE ARE YOU? THIS ISN'T FUNNY ANYMORE!"

I crossed my arm trapping in what little body warmth was left, and looked around.
Everywhere looked unwelcoming, frightening, sinister.
The slightest creek and snap added to my unease.

"FORGET IT MELODY I'M NOT PLAYIN NO MORE, I'M GOING HOME!"

Just as I was about to turn and rush back home, I heard a voice call out my name.

"MELODY...?"

There was a slight rustling next to me, I followed the sound to an empty clearing...well sort of empty there was a bundle of rags in the middle....

Where was she?

Where. WAS. Sheee?

Ah there...there she is!

"Of course your begging me to stop...but that's not how we play this game....let you go! Of course I will hunny!"

I could feel the grin spread across my face as I looked down in her eyes...such pretty eyes....reflecting my darkness back at me as I saw her swallow the lie.

Easy. Too easy.

"MELODY!"

The others voice echoed out, distracting me so that the girl in my hand saw her chance to make a break for freedom.

She yanked out my arms and ran as quick as her legs could carry her.

No! This would not do!

I ran after her and when I was only a couple of metres away from her, I leapt on her like a tiger and a baby wilder beast.We hit the ground and as we did a massive crack sound pierced the air as well lay deathly still.

Shit.

I pulled myself off the girl and looked down at her.

Shame. She was a pretty play thing as well...

"MEEEELODY!"

My head whipped round to the sound of our other players voice.
Fury filled me within...

She.she was the reason my little playmate was dead.
HER not Meee...!

Time to teach a lesson.....

I strolled in to the woods following the sound of her voice and breathing.

This was too easy.

She stood scared and frightened, her long hair in a tangled mess biting her lip peering worriedly in to the darkness.

Time to start the game.

I made several rustling sounds, leading her on to the clearing where the other body lay.
Hiding in the bushes, keeping myself a distance away from her as I was watched her fast walk towards the body.

Hehehe.

I liked this part as much as the killing, she'll scream for help now.
These two little rats had given me a lot of trouble in the past, making my life and job harder.
Now it's my time to repay the debt.

Smiling. I stood there waiting for her shrill voice to pierce the air but it never came.

Strange.

She just crouched there still.

Well this was no fun.
Guess she wasn't the player that I thought she was....oh well, never mind...it was fun playing while it lasted...

I walked silently towards the girl, Molly that was her name, and took my dagger quietly from it's sheath.

No more will they cause me grieth.

I could feel my body tense up with excitement, my mouth drool slightly as I thought of the final blow, my mouth formed a bigger grin.

This was it....

I moved my hand downwards to strike her through the neck, but then something happened....I could feel a cold liquid trail down my chest.

When I looked down a knife protruded from chest.

What...what...this wasn't supposed to happen....

I followed the arm to the girl who had pushed it through.

"Oh dear nanny! You didn't really think I would fall for this did you!"

Her voice crooned,

"Oh dear! You really did such a shame"

Her laughter echoed through the silent night, as she looked at me
Smiling I felt pure fear as I realised I wouldn't live to see another day.

"Yes that's right Nanny, no more children killing for you" she tutted.

My anger swelled roaring I moved to strike, but before I could her hand leapt out slashing at my throat.

Blood spurting everywhere.

I coughed.

Falling to the floor the last thing I saw was her bloodied hair and face, smiling sweet and innocently at me but one look in her eyes........

"You Murderous Wench" I coughed out with my dying breath.

"Guess I'm back then......." She giggled.

I stood there watching the crazy bat die.

sigh I always hated cleaning up after these things.

I moved towards the still Melody.

"Melody it's over, you can get up now"

The bundle of clothes moved, as the once seemingly dead girl awoke.

"She dead?"

"Yep"

"You knife her?"

"Yep"

"Good, I was getting sick of how many times she tried to poison my food....Crazy Bitch!" She spat.

"Just come and help clear this shit up! I have to get back to London there's a ripper of the name Jack making a bigger name than me"

My lip curled at the thought of another challenger...oh well they never last long...especially after meeting me....

We pulled the woman towards the woods ready to dump and leave her to the wolves....

"Next time Melody can you lead them to cliffs, it's less of clean up afterwards..."
