Diet pills and razorblades
And words to keep me calm
Diaries and records
Of all the things that I've done wrong
Poems with untold stories
Worn edges and ink smears
Memories of all the nights
I lie awake in tears
Secrets that I've kept wrapped up
Too dirty to ever share
Every small infraction
Is gathered up in there
A gorgeous wooden jewelry box
Painted pastel pink
With a twirling little dancer
Graffitied up in ink
Sitting on my bookshelf
Locked tight with an old key
It jangles on my necklace
Tucked where no one can see
No one knows those secrets
Kept in that vintage box
No one knows the lies
I keep under locks
It's a pretty jewelry box
My name scrawled across the top
Inconspicuous to the dirt it holds
The lies that will not stop
