The air around them was screeching in their ears. It got louder and louder as they ventured closer to the tornado.
The tornado was horrifying yet awesome.
It was a swirling grey cloud of madness, pivoting left and right. The tornado made gruesome noises. Lydia was terrified. But nobody else was.
Gavin grabbed Lydia's hand and pulled her to the tornado.
"Come on!" he yelled.
"No!" Lydia shrieked, worried.
"Yes!" Gavin screamed. "It's been two years since I've seen the real world. Today may be our only chance to get out of here!"
"Okay.." Lydia screeched at the top of her lungs.
Lydia and Gavin grabbed each other's hand. "I won't let you die!" Gavin yelled at her.
They ran towards the tornado. The distance was quickly closing between them and the tornado. There were a few others still running to the tornado, but Lydia couldn't see them. Finally, they were so close to the tornado they could have touched it.
"What do we do?" Lydia yelled, but the wind drowned her out. She didn't have to do anything, she realized, as she and Gavin were pulled into the tornado.
The wind was pulling them apart. Finger by finger, Lydia and Gavin ripped apart as they were swirled into a tangle o madness.
