The War Outside

For every drop of blood that falls
A million tears we shed
With every single bullet fired
Our hearts are filled with dread

With every single day at war
We fear for who is next
Our brothers and our sisters
Each on the edge of death

We see the bodies on the ground
No dignity at all
Ashen hue and eyes of grey
Left laying where they fall

We hide down in our bunkers
Whilst sirens bring the bombs
We sit in stony silence
Until silence outside comes

War

Searing crimson rays strike the scorched earth. Blood curdling screams shatter the once vividly beautiful land like fragile glass. Shining armour flashes and glistens under burning, deadly sun.
