Magicians...

I want to write a poem,
I know I have the time.
But writing is a science,
It's far much more than rhyme.

A poem tells a story,
And writing is an art.
It's more than ink and paper,
A piece comes from the heart.

It's intricately related,
Completely separate words.
Yet writers seem to tame them,
Musicians stroking chords.

From apple, man and woman,
From basic bits and straps,
Sprout symphonies of letters,
Creating worlds, perhaps.

Inflicting on a feeling,
Seducing you to read.
Taming words and pages,
Like warriors on a steed.

Like Gods with hands of thunder,
Imagining new realms.
With single, simple movements,
They'll easily take helm.

And I can only wonder,
What passes through their head.
What kind of gifts they're hiding,
What secrets left unsaid?

Perhaps I'm still too callow,
Too wide-eyed, too naive.
But writes are acts of magic,
To charm and to decieve.

For now I'll sit and wander,
Admiring the art.
'Cause writing is a science,
A look at someone's heart.
