Hanging on every word,
They crystallise on my breath,
Returning to their liquid state,
As they fall to Earth.
Their gentle shape masks their cruelty,
They kill the pretty flowers,
They cover all things around us,
And stay for many hours.
Their foundation is unique,
To each & every one,
A miracle at this time of year,
The winter has begun.
Beautiful & glistening,
They shine most at day break,
I'm warm inside my living room,
Admiring all snowflakes.
