What are you to me
now that you are gone?
My longing for you has not been tamed,
Though life keeps moving on
You were the bird that taught me how to fly-
Yet brought the storm that broke my wings,
My teacher of passion, desire and love-
And how terribly pain and loss can sting...
You were the clown who turned my tears to smiles,
Then quietly left the show...
The one that turned the rain to sun,
Yet stole my every rainbow.
You were the match that lit my flame-
The spark that caused the fire to start,
The pyre which burned my endless love
The train that crashed my helpless heart...
You had all the right prescriptions,
Yet never found the cure
And so my reckless 'You' addiction
Will always leave me wanting more.
