Ice on water, snow on ice,
As the river flows beneath,
A rumbling beast,
Fluff of cloud in sky of blue,
Cold wind howls on by
And whistles through,
Bough of pine trees, evergreen,
Land empty, life unseen,
Barren wasteland?
Frozen hell? No;
Life thrives in
Ice and wind and snow.
