LIVING WITH A BAD BOY

Chapter 19
Katie's POV

I couldn't remember what happened last night. I mean I remember Ethan kissing me, but then it all went blank until jake took me in.
I didn't even want to remember and I wasn't prepared to ask jake. All I could think about was Ethan. What had gotten into him last night?

Slowly, I opened my eyes and found myself in my bed with Jakes arms wrapped so tightly around me that I could barely breathe. His muscles stood out, because he was wearing a tight, black, short sleeved t-shirt. My hands were on his chest and I could feel his warmth on my palms. I didn't want to wake him but, since it was already 7:30 and we had school, I had to. Sigh.
I leaned my body against his and kissed him softly on the lips, it took him a few seconds, but eventually he started to kiss me back. His grip became tighter.
"That was the best wake up I've ever got" He laughed and I blushed.
"We gotta get up for school" I giggled.
"Can't we skip?" He asked.
"No" He pouted. Oh my god. He can't do this. No. We can't skip. We can't "We can't. I've skipped too much"
"Fine" Jake groaned.

An hour and a half later we were in our maths lesson. I'd missed so much over the past week. Miss Peppy, our teacher, told me i'd have to stay behind a few nights to catch up. She didn't dare tell Jake to stay behind, even though he might need to.

The classroom door burst open, startling me and a few other students. Two police officers walked in with the headmaster. This cant be good.... Both officers had dark hair and blue green eyes.
"Jake Steinwood?" Oh no. I looked at Jake. No. No. No. Jake pulled something out of his pocket and dropped it in mine.
"Go to Leo" He whispered in my ear then stood up.
"You are under arrest for the attempted murder of Ethan Henderson. You do not have to say anything, but it may harm your defence if you do not mention when questioned something which you later rely on in court. Anything you do say may be given in evidence" He nodded as they handcuffed him.
Jake didn't even look at me as they took him out of the classroom. I pinched myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming. Unfortunately, this was real.
What am I going to tell his mum? When will he get out? Why did he do this to Ethan?
The lesson carried on as usually. Not that there was any actual learning going on. Everyone was gossiping about Jake and using their phones to get the message out. I received at least three messages from people in my own class telling me had just happened. Like I hadn't seen it for myself....

Soon, the bell rang signalling class had ended. I shot up from my seat and ran down the corridor.
I pulled out what jake had given me. Keys. What am I going to do with keys?!? I turned them around in my hands... Jakes bike. I couldn't ride it. Did Leo know how to? Who was Leo? I'd never heard about him before. How would I find him?
I was walking around thinking what to do when suddenly, I was dragged backwards. Someones hand was covering my mouth and they were pulling me into a cupboard. Eek!
"Don't scream" He hissed. I bit his hand really hard. "Argh. And don't bite" My teeth dug into his skin harder and he hissed in pain. "I'm seriously going to kill jake for making me do this" I stopped. Jake. He is friends with jake? He removed his hand from my mouth and shook it, trying to make the pain go away. "I thank you, kindly for removing your teeth from my skin" He growled. "Ouch"
"You're jakes friend?" I asked, feeling a little guilty.
"Yeah" He didn't look like one of Jakes friends. He didn't act like one of Jakes friends. He didn't even sound like one of Jakes friends.
"Are you-?" I stopped. "Are you Leo?"
"Yeah. I prefer L though" He replied. Well... I guess that saves me a job of finding him.
"What did jake do? Why is he going to prison?" I asked frantically.
"Beating up some old friend of his I think. Apparently he is in hospital. Jake must have got him pretty bad"
"When?"
"Dunno. Last night I think" Jake beat up Ethan? Because of last night? And now he's in prison? No.
"No. No. No. He was only trying to save me. Why does he have to go to prison?"
"Don't worry about it. In the next few days his mom or someone will bail him out"
"Will he be ok?" I asked leo.
"Of course" Leo laughed. "He's been to prison a few times before. I'm sure he will survive"
"Can you please take me to see him?"
"Sure. You got the keys to his bike?"
"Yeah" He nodded and dragged me outside, to the bike. I gave him the keys.
"I've always wanted to ride one if these" He said once I had got on. Wait...what?
"You've never rode one before?!" Of course he had. He had to right?
"Nope" He was just messing with me. He had to....
"Then how do you know how to drive it?" I asked.
"I don't" Then he shoved the helmet ok my head and sped off. Oh my god....
