As some of you know already, I've been toying with the idea of an acrostic challenge. Now that we've laid the Household to rest (gawd bless 'er) I didn't want to just stride in with a new challenge, I thought I'd use this post to say how I think it should run, and to gauge your reaction.
For those who don't know, an acrostic is generally when a word runs vertically down the first lines of a piece, using the letters of the chosen word to form the first letters of each line.
We've seen many examples on Opuss, and I think this could offer a real challenge to those who would like to take part.
It can be any word, or two, or three, as long as the first letters (or end letters, or even the middle letters) form the word that is chosen. But the theme of the piece should be about that word, or words.
I also think that a time limit should be adhered to, as this is how the household got itself lost, with extended time limits leading most of us to wonder exactly who was running the challenge at any time.
Ok, so there it is, if you likey or not, please give a resounding 'yay' or 'nay' in the comments.
I'll gauge the reaction to this post, and should the 'yay's have it, I'll start it up this coming Monday.
I look forward to your comments, my fellow wordsmiths...
