What a lovely afternoon
The sun low in the sky
Trees coloured aflame
As wispy clouds float gently by
The tide has long departed
Mud flats are revealed
Waders pick for food
Before the river bed's concealed
The freshest crispy air
Is a cool autumnal touch
Soon blackness will roll in
To hide the view I love so much
It's different through the doorway
Hazy fume filled atmosphere
O working day please go away
Then I could stay right here...
