I remember
Not through want and of joy
But of woe through compulsion
No wisdom came with
Torment without accrual
Just eternal bitterness
Where optimism once stood
I remember faintly
Of my naive optimistic self
Blissful in my ignorance
Maturity bestowed upon me
A gift ungratefully received
Give me back my ignorance
