you were the one that truly cared.
Together we've shared so
much more than just a lifetime,
my mind processes moments
of a past when you were still mine.
Our history is told in artefacts
from places that we've been,
it represents all the wonderful
things that we have shared and seen.
The tokens of your love,
both large and small I've kept,
even the tiny shell from the beach
where our eyes first met.
I still have the remnants
of three candles in their little jars,
from when we slept beneath a beautiful
blanket of the worlds brightest stars.
But the memory I hold
the dearest is that of our first kiss,
I remember it's affect and how
it made my heartbeat miss.
I love you more than ever,
I've missed you more than words
can say, I pass from this life happy,
knowing that this will be our day.
