I lay in bed
The sky is dark
The city is asleep
And I know nobody can see me
So let myself go
Push down my emotional walls.
I lay in bed
Chest heaving in pain
Tears pouring down my face
Treading a wet avalanche down my cheeks
Leaving traces of salt on my lips.
I lay in bed and because no one can see me
Late at night I let my pain show
Until a fitful sleep takes over
And then it's morning again
And I plaster a smile on my face
And wait until the night
To once again
Unleash my pain.
