It's a funny kind of day with the missus not around
A birthday treat from work and she's gone to paint the town
Not that I'm complaining for everybody needs some space
But it will be strange for hours with only me about the place
So what is it that I'll do with this lovely LeeTime™?
Well the first thing on my mind was to write this little rhyme
Then up and dressed and washed, ablutions out of the way
But I know there'll be a list, and this is what it'll say
Can you...
Feed the rabbits put some washing in the tumble put more washing on do the dusting do the hoovering oooo go somewhere to see if you can close that account put more washing on empty the tumble feed the cat feed everybody else's bloody cats do the hoovering...
Apart from that, the days me own...
I don't mind at all, it only takes an hour or two
And by the time I'm finished the house will look brand new
But being a day for LeeTime™, there's something that she's missed
Apart from little chores I have an entirely different list
And I'm gonna...
Get up (eventually) get dressed washed have brekkie ignore the rabbits 'til later lose the broken DVD player and replace it with a spangly blu-ray generally spend most of the day in a horizontal position on the sofa maybe write another poem maybe not definitely watch films and probably fall asleep oh and do the hoovering...
I have so many things I'd like to do with my solitary day
But once I've done the chores they just seem to melt away
I'll have hours and hours to fill, to do with as I please
I should grab it with both hands, LeeTime™ I should seize
But no, it's not the same, I know exactly what I'll do
Once I've done the jobs I'll sit around and wait for you
This great big slab of LeeTime™ may leave me free to roam
But there's no time like some UsTime™, and there's no place like home
Oh, and change the bed...
