"Why do people kill themselves?"
Someone posed this question the other day, so here's my answer:
People kill themselves because they simply are tired of their lives. They're sick of being sad, depressed, angry, and they're just tired of suffering and feeling useless.
"It'll just ruin everyone else's lives."
It probably will. But in that moment of greed, in that moment of selfishness, they're not thinking about everyone else. They're just thinking of an escape route, a way to stop the never-ending river of tears.
Truth is, we spend our whole lives looking for an escape route. If we're sad, we do something that will make us happy and keep us from being sad, i. e., an escape route.
So maybe your escape route's here on Earth. Maybe it's not. Sure, this doesn't justify the fact that you took your own life away, but if you're not happy, I believe you should do whatever the hell you have to do to find that happiness. Suicide won't solve your problems. But it will end them, I suppose. However, it will also end your happiness, whether it was an ounce or millions of ounces. Suicide will end everything.
