The walled garden and the empty overgrown lake
Your eyes flutter as you gently drift awake
The owl and the cockerel call to the moon
Fear not dear one sleep will find you again soon
For today is the day, the freedom you wish was yours
Put on your show, but don't expect applause
They ignore the scratch on your wrist
Another polite denial to add to their list
The tears in your mind hover in the clear blue
So the sun in your smile can appear to seem true
For soon it will be empty grey and the rain will arrive
This is not what you wished for, fear of being alive
