@mpallister24 I can assure you I NEVER choose on a whim...I choose from my own heart and soul what I liked and by writes that touched me in some way...I'm sure some people do it for a bit of fun...others like yourself put your heart and soul into it....and I'm sorry my lovely that you feel that way and frankly I'm a tad offended that you think I only chose those that are in a so called 'Opuss clan'...I repeat I only choose the ones that touched me in some way...I personally think that you are ALL winners for participating....it is supposed to be enjoyable and I'm a little concerned that you are taking it so very seriously...of course for you if you truly do feel this way then maybe the household challenge is not for you...but then again if you don't take part you will be missing out on the taking part!😏😏😏

@mpallister24 I didn't say your writing isn't good, I said you were improving. Do you think it's as good as the top? I am proud of a couple of mine out of a couple hundred!! The rest are just throw away bits of nonsense. I have pressed like on a few of yours and I only do that for posts I genuinely like. Be careful how you judge yourself and be truthful to yourself otherwise you won't have the drive to keep improving 👍

@mpallister24 of course your upset. If you think you've tried your very best and u always think I've tried my very best but sometimes there are just pieces of work that ate better. Also what touches you may not touch another. I'm very competitive and I can imagine you are too so it's understandable that you may feel upset if you don't win. You also have to remember its very difficult being the one who has to judge with so much talent in here including yourself. So just keep trying but don't accuse people of something that there not. ☺💚👍

I'm really glad that @eddie12309 has said that to you @mpallister24 . She is right, we are all competitive and ambitious, and there is nothing wrong with that. But you can't win everything, so you must learn to be gracious in times of defeat and learn the hard fact of life that there will always be someone better than you. @mpallister24 you have passion and I admire that my sweet I really do...there were many many entries and I can honestly say I found it truly difficult to choose, hence why I had 3 in each ....however being passionate is one thing but you cannot take rejection personally...many many great writers get rejected, as does anyone in many other areas such as actors and singers etc...it's how you deal with it that shows your strength of character....I've like quite a few of your posts and I look forward to reading more...but please don't get upset by not being chosen...it really is meant to be enjoyable😘

@mpallister24 how old are you? Because your response to this 'loss' makes you seem about ten years old. Seriously, if you react like that when things go wrong for you in real life you won't get very far before someone smacks you down. Judging poetry is a subjective thing - I would have chosen differently but @misslittleDHP chose the poems that touched her and that was her right. Your attitude will actually stop people from reading and giving you constructive criticism and thus it will stop you growing. I think you need to step back and look at your own big-headed and superior attitude before you come in throwing accusations and mean-spirited comments around.

Yeah it's in the terms when you sign up, if you read them. I'm pretty sure you have to be 13 @mpallister24 but I'll check with @seamonster. And this is the reason; to stop immature kids ruining everyone's experience. I don't usually get angry but this is happening too often these days, makes me want to go elsewhere.

I hate to be immature here but this is so funny. I am not trying to stir anything but everyone needs to grow up a bit.

@mpallister24 You know, I have gotten to judge a couple of these, and first of all, it's hard! I took the judging very seriously and spent a lot of time on it. Secondly, I went out of my way to try to get fresh blood involved, but you know what I found? When I was honest with myself, I had to admit that the top ranked writers are highly ranked for a reason. Nobody puts out a gem every post (certainly I don't), but most of the pieces I truly thought were best written were familiar names. Of course, it would be better if a contest like this could be judged blind, without knowing who wrote what, but I don't think there is any way to do that, but I wouldn't be surprised if instead of broadening the pool of winners, that narrowed it instead. But this really is primarily a place for practice and feedback, and rankings and competition are often more distraction than they're worth.

@mpallister24 you clearly accused @misslittleDHP of picking people who are in her clique, which is a testament to you being a hot-headed bad loser.

@Nom congrats and have fun judging lol! @mpallister24 I'm sorry you feel there is a clique at the top ranks hun but you have to remember we wasn't always at or near the top and we all form friendships through the comments and challenges ect. I have seen lots of members rise through the ranks and some a just naturally gifted and can produce vast amounts of quality material (this could be due to age, having experienced many things ect ect) when I joined I wasn't automatically near the top, I had to post and comment and groups do form, I think it's a shame new members and those lower down do not comment and get involved more, everybody is here to write, read, learn and grow. I'm glad you voiced your opinion (maybe not in the best way I'm sure you will now agree), I'm also proud of you for apologising. Being competitive is great as it can improve our writing and make us more determined but don't let it rule you. Enjoy writing and write for all the good reasons and forget ranks, it really do not mean anything!! Some of the most remarkable pieces I have read come from those lower down but they do not comment or are as addicted to opuss as others. Get involved and comment more and keep writing hun!! Btw I judged one of these and believe me it's a nightmare trying to keep up with all the posts, it's a fun challenge ment to inspire people and give them something to write about if they are bored are stuck for inspiration!! X
