Today is the day after
And we've put it all away
The single heart and rose
We couldn't sell yesterday
Today the end of romance
Most unconditionally
Tesco wants it shelves back
Other things to sell, you see
Don't even bother looking
For it only disappoints
To know the the only card that's left
Will just give you clubcard points
Chocolate's now for Easter
As are the cuddly toys, I fear
If you need to buy your loving
Same time, same place, next year...
Why do we buy our romance
From the nearest convenience store
We all have it in abundance
And it costs far less for sure
I just know that we can do it
Without having to pay
Let's try romance throughout the year
Not just on Valentines Day
But try telling that to Tesco
They're glad their shelves are bare
For there's no doubt. Love? Sold out
And they've got branches everywhere
They're feeling the love alright
Stop whining, you ungrateful whelps
Your love's improved our profits
And every little helps...
