Some find it unusual, I make it commonplace
To take my tea with members of a multi-spindled race
The washing up's a doddle, done at four times the pace
When I invite an octopus to tea
With tea we will have cake, on a nice bone china plate
I never let him cut it for that's just tempting fate
He'll slice octagonally, then eat all pieces eight
If I invite an octopus to tea
After taking tea an octopus will play charades
So many limbs a wavin', it's like the changing of the guards
But with many hands to choose from, he tends to cheat at cards
When I invite an octopus to tea
He's one of natures giants, there's no cause for alarm
Deep sea life's so full of strife, he just wants a moments calm
Make sure you have eight teacups, one for every arm
If you invite an octopus to tea
